Cal U trustees postpone meeting

A meeting by the California University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees that was to take place this morning to consider taking action on the proposed integration plan  has been postponed.

The proposed plan, if approved next month by the State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors, would combine Cal U with Clarion and Edinboro universities. At the regular Cal U Trustees meeting last week, the trustees decided to hold a special meeting to consider a resolution regarding the integration plan.

The resolution was not voted on that night because it wasn’t on the agenda, and James T. Davis, chairman of the trustees, said they wanted complete transparency and an opportunity for the public to comment on the motion before the trustees voted.

Davis said that aspect has not changed.

“I expect there will be a meeting,” Davis said. “It’s been postponed. Collectively, there are more questions we want to see answered and we want to have more discussion with the chancellor’s office.”
