Minister Millie Thomas’ memorial set for September

For the MVI
Minister Millie Thomas had a reach in her ministry that went much further than arm’s length.
Her passion for ministering for her faith took her outside the Mon Valley frequently and even to other states.
Known by many as “Mom Millie,” Thomas was serving under Pastor Henry Frain of the Living Room Church in Webster.
When she passed away in June at the age of 82, her loss left a void in many people in and outside of her ministry.
On Sept. 25, the meeting group she once led — The Thursday Fellowship Group — will sponsor an event to celebrate the life and accomplishments of “Mom Millie.”
The event will take place at Monessen City Park Amphitheater from noon to 4 p.m. The celebration will include music, mime, fellowship and the featured guest speaker will be Pastor Frain.
“We just want to celebrate her life through fellowship,” said Evelyn Robinson, a cousin of Thomas who will take over her role in the Thursday Fellowship Group.
