Mary Kay Fredrick – Carroll Township
Mary Kay Fredrick, 97, of Carroll Township, passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2021, at The Residence at Hilltop. Born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Star Junction, she is the daughter of the late John and Agnes Sipkovsky Marinak. Mary worked at Corning in Charleroi for many years until her retirement and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Charleroi campus. A member of the Christian Mothers, Mary was an avid card player; particularly the Slovak card club and the Craven Hill card club. Surviving to cherish Mary’s memory are her sons, Mark (Jane) Fredrick and Paul Fredrick; grandsons, Justin (Megan) Fredrick and Jordan Fredrick; great-grandchildren, Mason and Declon Fredrick; her sister, Agnes DeAngelis; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul P. Fredrick; and her sister, Katherine Marinak Dorcon. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock- Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at St. Andrew Apostle Parish, Charleroi campus, Seventh Street and Washington Avenue, Charleroi.
