Grace Balogh – White Oak

Grace Balogh, age 99, of White Oak, died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, in UPMC Shadyside. She was born on Aug. 6, 1922, in McKeesport and is the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Fulop Kovach; and the wife of the late Steve Balogh. She was a lifetime member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church and their Women’s Guild. She enjoyed the Tuesday noodle making and being with the ladies at the church. She also loved cooking and baking at home. As recently as a month ago, she made stuffed cabbage and apricot rolls. She loved watching “The Bachelor,” listening to AM talk radio and could tell you about current events. However, her biggest love in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Steven D. (Christine) Balogh of McKeesport; daughter, Patricia J. (Angelo) Ferraro of White Oak; grandchildren, Julia and Joshua Balogh, Michael, Nicholas and Daniel Ferraro and Samantha Roskowski; great-grandson, Theo Roskowski; and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Mary Orban, Ethel Buck, Helen Semko, Alice Behary, Elizabeth Balogh, Ernest Kovach and John Kovach. Family and friends are welcome to STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177, from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, and again from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 20, at the Free Hungarian Reformed Church, 101 University Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132. Burial will follow.
