Deborah M. Massey Zadnik – Monongahela, Forward Township

Deborah M. Massey Zadnik, 66, of Monongahela, Forward Township, passed away on Jan. 9, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on July 15, 1955, in Monongahela, daughter of Barbara Polonoli Gallick of Monongahela and the late George E. Gallick, who passed away Dec. 11, 2021. Deb graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School and after attending college and night school, she worked for several years as a phlebotomist for Med Check Laboratories. She then opened Deb’s Coffee Shop in Clairton, until her retirement in 2016. In 1987, she married George Zadnik, who survives, and together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba. Deb is also survived by a son, Thomas Kadar (Alicia) of Murrysville; a daughter and son-in-law, Toni Lynn (Bob) McCracken of Monongahela; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa (Al) Sandham of Monongahela; and five stepgrandchildren, Reagan Thomas, R. Grant, Kylie, Morgen and W. Flynn. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Clarence Massey, who passed away when she was 12. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
