Armand Dale Lorenzi – Charleroi
Armand Dale Lorenzi, 96, Charleroi, passed away peacefully at Mon Valley Care Center on Feb. 6, 2022. Born on Feb. 5, 1926, in North Charle- roi, Armand was the son of the late Jane Francis and Anthony Lorenzi. Following high school, Armand served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the EAME Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was also a member of First Christian Church in Fallowfield Township, American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi and the Slavic Citizens Club of North Charleroi. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Mill. Armand enjoyed dancing, playing euchre, gardening and spending time with his loving fiancée, Mary Lou Lachman and his nephew, Tony Boscan. Armand is survived by his fiancée, Mary Lou Lachman; brother-in-law, Joe Doer; brother-in-law, Andy Boscan; and his numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and being the last surviving Lorenzi, Armand was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Gaisbacher Jones; sisters, Enice (Mario) Carcella, Florence (Vince) Lariccia, Clarinda Doerr and Antionette Boscan; and his brother, Donald (Shirley) Lorenzi. Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017, at 1:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are recommended inside the funeral home. A celebration of Armand’s life will be held at First Christian Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Christian Church of Charleroi or to the Wounded Warriors Project in Armand’s name.
