James ‘Jimbo’ A. Carden – Finleyville
James “Jimbo” A. Carden, 67, of Finleyville, Ginger Hill, died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, in his home. He was born March 1, 1954, in New Eagle, the son of the late Jack E. and Norma Jean Knight Carden. Jimbo was a 1974 graduate of Monongahela High School and attended Journey by Grace Church in Belle Vernon. He was formerly employed by Power Piping in Donora for several years. He was a member of the Valley Inn Sportsman Association, participated in the Monongahela Boys Club and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Although he faced many obstacles during his life, Jimbo always had a positive attitude. He will be remembered as quite the instigator and jokester! He loved hunting, fishing, chicken and Mountain Dew. He is survived by two sons, James A. Carden, Jr. and wife Brandy of Newburg, and David L. Carden of Monongahela; four grandchildren, Della, Lucas, Chance and Amira Carden; two sisters, Vickie Law and husband Mark of Monongahela, Valley Inn, and Sandra Simpson and husband Jack of Finleyville, Ginger Hill; his former wife, Cathy Plinta Carden of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David “Slice” Carden. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Journey by Grace Church, 4803 State Route 51 North Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Thomas Ravasio officiating. Anyone attending the funeral service Saturday is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery.
