Tensions flare at McKeesport Area School Board meeting

Tensions flared once again at this month’s McKeesport Area School Board meeting as the board continued debating the validity of the process used to approve the superintendent’s contract at a special meeting in July. And while a judge wasn’t presiding at Wednesday’s meeting, at times it felt like a court case was being played out before the overflow crowd as board President Mindy Lundberg and the superintendent quoted letters from attorneys.
Despite heated discussion that trickled over into public comment, the board did not take any new action Wednesday in regard to Superintendent Dr. Mark P. Holtzman Jr.’s contract.
