Mary Donis Wegman Donovan – Monongahela
Mary Donis Wegman Donovan, 96, of Monongahela, passed away Feb. 26, 2022, at Penn Highlands-Mon Valley Hospital surrounded by her children. Mary was born in New Eagle on Dec. 8, 1925, daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Stein Wegman. A graduate of Monongahela High School, Mary was a homemaker for many years, raising her five children. She then worked as a library clerk for Monongahela Area Library from May 1979 to August 2012, when she retired after 33 years of service. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, Mary was an avid reader who enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, John (Linda) Donovan of Finleyville, Harry Donovan of Charleroi and James (Karen) Donovan of Carroll Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret (Ronald) Proctor and Paula Blackwell, all of Monongahela; 10 grandchildren, Julie (Anthony) Westfall, Bret (Jennifer) Donovan, Holly (Jacob) McKee, Laura (Peter) Perrier, Amy (Derek) Gongaware, Michael Donovan, Jessica Southerland, Garret Donovan, James Donovan (Allison Conley) and Kelly Donovan and fiancé Brian Radka; and seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Sydney and Lukas Westfall, Angelia and Emmalyn Donovan, and Clark and Camdyn Cekus. Mary is also survived by a sister, Nancy (Richard) Komondor of New Eagle. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, John H. “Dunnie” Donovan. Also preceding her in death were a brother, John Milton Wegman; a sister, Vera Ann Filer; an infant brother, Harry William Wegman; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Donovan; and her grandson, William H. Donovan. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Blessing prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
