Emil Joseph Matsko – formerly of Donora

Emil Joseph Matsko, 86, formerly of Donora, passed away on April 29, 2022, in the Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. He was born on June 6, 1935, to the late Michael and Anna Simko Matsko of Donora. After his graduation from Donora High School in 1953, Emil served from 1954-57 active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After returning home, he began working at the Fabco Fastening Systems until his retirement. Emil is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet L. (Gula) Matsko; two sons, Mark (Yvonne) Matsko of Arlington, Va., and Ken Matsko of Avon, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Matsko (Robert Bartman) of Monongahela; a sister, Bonnie Muniz of Las Vegas; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Gula of Donora; six grandchildren, Eric and Shane Mele, Austin, Katie, Kyle and Annika Matsko; two great-granddaughters, Emilyn and Mirabelle Mele. Emil was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Romantino; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Matsko; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Helen (Jakela) Gula.
