Comcast announced 100 small businesses in Allegheny County that will receive a total $1 million in grants Tuesday.
Comcast awards the $10,000 grants through its RISE program. Partnering with local organizations like the Mon Valley Initiative, the program sponsors businesses owned by women and people of color looking to improve marketing, technology or general capital support following the COVID-19 pandemic. Three owners from two Mon Valley businesses were among the grant winners: Ashley Nebel, owner of Shop N Go on Route 837 in Jefferson Hills/West Elizabeth; and Lynn Pickford and Julie Bubanovich, owners of Precision Copy Products in Clairton.
