Mon Valley residents had a unique opportunity Wednesday to talk one-on-one with law enforcement from several local communities and more than a dozen state police troopers. Organized through a partnership with State Police, Troop B, from the Belle Vernon Barracks, local police departments and the Mon Valley Chapter of the NAACP, residents were given a chance to interact with officers, hear about their individual departments and ongoing struggles in an effort to build positive community relationships. Officers from several Mon Valley departments attended, including chiefs from Monessen, North Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, Charleroi Regional and Monongahela, who each spoke about their individual departments, coverage areas, concerns and successes.
