Rostraver Township hears environmental complaints

Environmental concerns rained on the Mon Valley National Night Out victory parade at Rostraver Township’s commissioners’ meeting Wednesday. Longtime commissioner Gary Beck said Tuesday’s event was an overwhelming show of law enforcement and community building and it that it “ranks in his memory as the number one event that’s ever been hosted in Rostraver.” But it was back to business as Commissioner Justin Kosanko, chairman of the health and welfare committee, relayed news of Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill receiving three separate state Department of Environmental Protection violations in the past month.
Per the DEP’s website, routine inspections were conducted on July 5 And July 29.
