Rostraver to require Knox Boxes for new commercial buildings

Rostraver Township will require Knox Boxes for all new commercial buildings. The board of commissioners amended its fire prevention ordinance Wednesday to mandate the use of a common-sense fire prevention and safety tool that allows fire departments to more quickly gain access to buildings in case of emergency. “They’re used all throughout the Mon Valley,” said Commissioner Devin DeRienzo, who is also a captain with the Rostraver Central Fire Department.
