Valley parks to benefit from Pa. grant money

Speers will receive $70,000 for renovation work on Lower Speers Park.

Several parks in the Mon Valley will receive funding boosts to improve recreation in their communities from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. On Wednesday, state Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township, announced that six grants throughout her district totaling more than $1.3 million have been awarded, with some funds directly impacting local communities.
