Belle Vernon’s preliminary budget doesn’t raise taxes

Belle Vernon Borough Council passed a tentative 2023 budget Tuesday that holds taxes steady for borough residents. Finance chair Cliff Gorski said the borough intends to keep its current rate of 8 mills, which includes 2 mills for road maintenance taxes. In the budget, council designates $631,866 for 2023 expenses, which matches the borough’s expected income. The budget includes a 2% penalty rate for unpaid real estate taxes.
