Kevin John Brownfield – Monongahela
Kevin John Brownfield, 68, of Monongahela, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born June 3, 1954, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., the son of Salvador and Sarah Kelly Brownfield. Throughout his years of employment, Kevin worked at Mission Bottling in Donora, and Allied Chemical and Hills Restaurant, both in New Eagle. He was a former member of Moose Lodge 172 in Finleyville, Carroll Legion James C. Ford Post 949 in Dunkirk and the Sutman Yohe VFW Post 1409 in Black Diamond. He was a past president and active member of the Slovak Club in Monongahela. He was also a member of the former American Russian Citizens Club in Monongahela. Kevin enjoyed golfing and watching television. He is survived by his wife, Karen Matus Brownfield, with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage on June 20, 2022; two sons, John and Gary Brownfield, both of Charleroi; daughter, Christine Brownfield of Belle Vernon; two stepsons, Donald and David Taylor, both of Monongahela; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Daniel Taylor. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
