North Belle Vernon council approved the 2023 budget, heard a complaint about sewer payments and spoke about the upcoming parade for the state champion Belle Vernon Area High School football team.
Council unanimously approved a $757,000 budget for the upcoming year with no tax hike for property owners. The general rate remains at 29 mills.
“It’s always good when nothing’s getting raised,” Council President Brett Berish said.
The budget allocates around $204,000 for the police department, $129,000 for public works and $65,400 for the fire department. There will be a 3 mill rate for fire tax.
