Wilbert “Buddy” Garrick, 81, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, in his home.  A son of the late William Carl and Elizabeth Hess Garrick, he was born in Monessen on Sept. 1, 1941. Formerly of Monessen, Buddy had been a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 55 years. He had been employed by U.S. Steel, Irvin Works, until the closing of the tin metal and sheet department, then worked as a security guard at the Perryopolis Auto Auction. Catholic by faith, he was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen. Wilbert was a United States Air Force veteran, proudly serving his country.  He enjoyed cutting the grass on his riding mower and taking walks around his neighborhood. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathryn Krolik Garrick; two daughters and a son in-law, Teri and Tom Hewitt and Becky Mackey, all of Belle Vernon; three granddaughters, Jessica (Tyler) Holmes of Charleroi, Brittany Mackey, also of Charleroi, and Sara Hewitt of Belle Vernon; and two great-granddaughters, Phoebe and Daphne Holmes. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
