Mass resignations in North Charleroi

Three members of North Charleroi Council, the mayor and the long-time borough solicitor resigned Monday — and a mysterious, anonymous letter is partly to blame. Solicitor Chrissy Cardinale was the first to step down during her report. Cardinale, who has served as the solicitor for 27 years, attempted to resign last month but was encouraged by members of council to reconsider. After a month of deliberation with her family, she announced Monday that her decision will take effect Jan. 31.
