Greyhounds pound Pioneers

Lorenzo Gardner poured in 33 points and the Monessen defense forced 23 first-half turnovers, as the Greyhounds were off to the races and collected a 70-39 victory over visiting West Greene Friday night in Section 2-1A boys basketball action. After a slow start in the opening minutes of the first quarter, Monessen coach Dan Bosnic liked the way his group was able to refocus and play with a higher level of energy throughout the rest of the contest.
