Cougars fall, but get help; DeUnger falls short of 1K

A lot was on the line for the Charleroi girls’ basketball team Thursday night in their Section 4-3A finale. And the Cougars were looking to take everything on the table, but unfortunately things just didn’t go their way against McGuffey. It was basically a win-and-you’re in the playoffs situation for both teams, but after Charleroi’s top scorer McKenna DeUnger went down with an injury mid-second quarter, it was all Highlanders the rest of the way as they handed the Cougars a 53-46 setback at home.
