It’s official! Hounds are section champs

Five seasons ago, the Monessen girls basketball program was coming off a 3-18 season when current coach Janine Vertacnik took the helm. Now, for the first time in 11 years, the Greyhounds are section champions after a lopsided 63-33 victory over Avella Thursday evening.
