Shooting suspect released from hospital

Surrounded by a large group of law enforcement — including multiple McKeesport police officers — the man accused of shooting two city officers was taken into custody Thursday outside UPMC Presbyterian hospital. Just before noon, Johnathan Jermia Morris, 31, of Wilson St., McKeesport, emerged from the hospital in a wheelchair pushed by McKeesport Assistant Police Chief Mark Steele. Morris was transported in an Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office van to Allegheny County Jail.
