Monessen board honors students

Several students were celebrated for their academic feats at Monessen’s school board meeting Tuesday night. The school board meeting started with a video commemorating students of the quarter in grades 6-12 in various categories. It ended with recognition of the students of the month for November, December and January in grades K-5. High school tech-education teacher Matthew Strine accompanied four middle school students as they showed a video they submitted to the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” contest. The competition gives Pennsylvania students the opportunity to explore the importance of manufacturing, and students Breslin Trubiani, Colton Shawley, Davinci Weible and Koa Rettger did just that in their video.
