Yough falls in first round

Both Yough and Beaver Falls’ girls basketball teams knew points would be at a premium in their WPIAL Class 3A preliminary-round contest Thursday night. The No. 16 Cougars struggled offensively on the inside and couldn’t muster one final run in the second half, as the visiting No. 17 Tigers grabbed a 40-32 victory and ended Yough’s season.
