Solar-powered scooters

From left, California Area Elementary School students Samuel Woznack, Emma Vash and Diamond Cammack rode solar-powered scooters Tuesday afternoon. The school district recently acquired 20 solar-powered scooters through the support of a Pennsylvania DEP Environmental Education Grant. Elementary students taking classes at the high school have been using the scooters for transportation between the two campus buildings. Students are required to earn a Digital Badge to use the scooters.
