Area grapplers move on at PIAA Wrestling Championships

A quintet of local wrestlers advanced to the quarterfinals with victories in the round of 16 on Day 1 of the PIAA Individual Wrestling Championships Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey. Bentworth’s Chris Vargo (127) and Vitali Daniels (215), Frazier’s Ryan Celaschi (152) and Rune Lawrence (189) and Thomas Jefferson’s Maddox Shaw (133) will look to advance to the semifinals in today’s action. Vargo, Daniels, Celaschi and Lawrence will compete in Class 2A while Shaw is in Class 3A.
