Charleroi schools address chronic absenteeism

Charleroi Area Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich is developing a proposal to address attendance problems in the school district. During a business meeting Tuesday, Zelich informed school directors that the district is facing a high rate of chronic absenteeism across all grade levels. Chronic absenteeism is defined as students who miss 15 or more days of school in an academic year without an excuse.
