Daisey E. Blake – Finleyville
Daisey E. Blake, 85, of Finleyville, died Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Premier Washington Health Center, Washington. She was born Jan. 22, 1938, in McKeesport, the daughter of Kenneth and Esther Ullyatt Kemp. Daisey was a 1955 graduate of McKeesport High School and was a member of Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church in Finleyville. Daisey was known for her famous goat milk fudge, which she took pride in making and selling at the Covered Bridge, Fort Armstrong and Twin Lakes Festivals as well as many other festivals in the area. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, James P. Blake; son, Fred (Patricia) Carter of Front Royal, Va.; two daughters, Dianna (Joe) Fogel of Virginia Beach, Va., and Vicki (Joe) Griffith of Berryville, Va.; nine grandchildren, Kevin Carter, Kelly (Jason) Kenny, Justin (Carley) Carter, Jason and Brittney Carter, Holly Fogel, Amanda (Matthew) Hurst, Jacob (Rebecca) Griffith and Jennifer (Wilson) Mora-Zuniga; six great-grandchildren, Kenna Carter, Lane and Emma Kenny, Lucy Griffith and Logan and Alexa Mora; and a brother, Larry Kemp of Florida. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, with the Rev. Jeff Vanderhoff officiating.
