Ringgold School District administrators presented a strategic plan for the district to board members Wednesday.
The plan comes from the work of a 24-member steering committee. The committee was made up of parents, community members, teachers and school leaders.
The committee met four times, twice in person and twice online, between February and April to pinpoint four “strategic pillars” for the district.
In September, the district formed a 203-person focus group composed of 30 students, 24 parents and community members, 61 teachers, 58 district staffers, 23 administrators and seven board members. Participants provided input on district successes, potential improvements and general visions for the future.
The committee also held surveys for parents and employees, and currently circulates a student survey. Members also utilized survey data from last year, comparing and considering results.
Throughout the process, the district worked with educational consulting firm Studer Education, who helped to analyze data.
