Area legislators are confident the Mon Valley has what it takes to set a positive example for the next generation, on a local, regional and national scale.
On Wednesday, the Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce brought legislators together from across Allegheny County to discuss the road ahead for local communities as the Mon Valley continues to build stronger economies, businesses and communities.
Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, D-McKeesport, was the keynote speaker for the event, and as always, he said it was nice to be close to home.
He spoke briefly about his first few months in office along side Gov. Josh Shapiro, but more importantly wanted to remind those in attendance of a promise he has made to make sure the Mon Valley and its surrounding communities have advocates in Harrisburg.
“The Mon Valley knows what it feels like to feel forgotten or overlooked by people in Harrisburg,” Davis said. “But I am here to tell you that our administration will not leave you behind.”
