McKeesport council prepared for summer road paving, park openings and events during Wednesday’s monthly meeting.
“We’re getting ready for summer,” Mayor Michael Cherepko said. “Our improvements to parks, streets and demolition projects are picking up. We’re very excited. Good things are happening.”
Council awarded a contract to El Grande Industries Inc. to complete Phase 3 of the city’s Street Improvement Project. The contractor will mill, reconstruct and resurface portions of Cornell Street, Coursin Street, Evans Avenue, Forest Street, North Grandview Avenue, Reed Street, Porter Street, Soles Street and Steele Street for a cost not to exceed $629,647.25.
Cherepko explained the purpose of the ongoing project is to repave primary city corridors.
