Family outreach event in McKeesport promotes literacy

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit, its family centers and community partners welcomed families to Spring Around Story Time Wednesday.
“I’m so happy to see everyone come out and enjoy themselves,” AIU McKeesport Family Center Director Laura Bosnak Thompson said. “We’re excited for all our partners to come together and show kids a good time.”
The event aimed to bring local parents together and provide kids with literacy-based activities.
Each community partner set up a different play area for local kids involved in the AIU’s McKeesport, Duquesne, Clairton and Braddock family centers.
