Joanna Smichnick Granato – Coal Center
Joanna Smichnick Granato, 85, of Coal Center, Long Branch, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Pricedale, she was the daughter of the late John and Eve Backo Smichnick. A resident of Long Branch for the past 49 years, Mrs. Granato attended the HOPE Center Church in Lynnwood, was a retired hostess from Hoss’s Restaurant in Belle Vernon and enjoyed shopping and gardening her house plants. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Granato of Long Branch; two grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Granato, and Natalie Granato; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Shirley Granato of Long Branch. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
