West Greene throttles Monessen

After battling through a tough Section 3-1A schedule this spring, the Monessen softball team finished fourth in section play and qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2019. The No. 12 Greyhounds had their hands full in their Class 1A first-round contest against No. 5 West Greene Tuesday at rainy Waynesburg University, as some postseason jitters and some wildness in the circle led to a 16-1 setback in three innings.
