California Area High School stages mock prom crash

California Area High School’s chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions hosted a mock prom disaster exercise Wednesday. Junior firefighters from the California and Roscoe fire companies took part as well as an EMT from Brownsville Ambulance Service. Above, student Jake Layhue is shown on the stretcher surrounded by classmates and an EMT. At right, California and Roscoe firefighters work to extricate students from a car during the exercise. Weld’s Towing provided the car and California police helped supervise.
