Rostraver Township Commissioner John Lorenzo has chosen to appeal his summary conviction, which was handed down in district court last month.
Lorenzo, 43, was found guilty of harassing the township manager and two fellow commissioners at last year’s Halloween event after roughly three hours of testimony before Magisterial District Judge Scott Fanchalsky.
After his conviction, Fanchalsky told Lorenzo he has 30 days to decide if he wanted to appeal the ruling and now, he has appealed that conviction to the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas.
A new attorney is representing Lorenzo in this appeal as Jeffrey Ries is no longer listed as his lawyer. In the appeal docket, it states Lorenzo’s attorney of record is Timothy Andrews of Greensburg.
