Dennis W. Widmer – Belle Vernon

By obits

Dennis W. Widmer, 69, of Belle Vernon went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on June 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. We know that the Lord greeted him with, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Denny was a man of action and loved carpentry and construction projects. Anything that required a power saw and a hammer was his kind of fun! Denny was a member of Gospel Alliance Church of Rostraver. He was devoted to studying God’s word and quietly lived his life to honor and glorify his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Denny will be remembered as a man who was kind and hard working, with a willing heart to serve others. Denny was born Jan. 24, 1954, and raised in Monongahela, Pa. He graduated from Ringgold High School in 1971 and California University in 1978. Denny’s employment included the building trade, printing press operator and custodian in the Belle Vernon Area School District. Although the story of Denny Widmer’s life on earth has ended, it had a very, very good ending. Denny was ready to enter God’s Kingdom to meet his Savior face to face, and hold his daughter, Amy, and granddaughter, Holly, again. The new chapter of his eternal life has just begun and will continue to be written by the hand of God. If you don’t have this same assurance, please ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart as your Savior. Denny’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Diane; sons and daughter in law, David of Belle Vernon, and Luke and Deanne of Belle Vernon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randolf and Suzanne of Donora, and John and Georgette of McKeesport; and sister, Valerie Vance of Finleyville. He is now enjoying reunions in Heaven with his daughter, Amy Joy Widmer Wentworth; granddaughter, Holly Joy Wentworth; his parents, John and Eva Widmer; his sister, Lois Henry; and many other loved ones who have gone before. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather directly at Gospel Alliance Church, Rostraver, for funeral services at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jordan Buchmann officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
