Charleroi Area School District officials got a head start preparing for the 2023-24 school year.
During a board meeting last week, directors approved several resolutions that renewed contracts, updated policies and made sure staff will be in place well before students head back to class.
Of the most substantial decisions, the board unanimously agreed to extend Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich’s contract through June 30, 2028.
Zelich is wrapping up his ninth year as a Cougar, and is eager to continue to move the district forward alongside his administration, board and staff.
“We’re very pleased that you’ll be with us for another five years to keep growing and improving,” Board President Ken Wiltz said. “We appreciate the time and service you have given us. You need a good leader, and we have that here.”
