Jennifer Frazier – Monongahela
Jennifer Frazier, 75, of Monongahela, Pa., passed away and went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2023. She was reunited with her parents, Rachael and Major Turner and Frank Rawlins; and her sisters, Deborah Reynolds and Vicki Kizzie, all of Monessen, Pa. Jennifer was born on March 19, 1948, in Monessen. She was a resident of Monongahela and a graduate of Monessen High School class of 1966. When you asked Jennifer, “How are you?” she would always respond, “Can’t complain.” She existed in a continuous state of gratefulness and appreciation for God’s blessings in her life. She’d remind you, “You’re not lucky; you’re blessed.” Words she lived by were, “I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now” and the Bible verse, “Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10 KJV. Faith and gratefulness were the cornerstones of her life. Jennifer was a devout member of Bethel AME Church in Monongahela for roughly 50 years. Over the years, she served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher, choir member, trustee board member and a member of the lay organization. Fifteen years ago, Jennifer married the love of her life and her best friend, Richard. Their love of God and their involvement in their church community brought them together. They were always on the go and enjoyed sharing new experiences. Some of their best times together were spent cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, attending concerts, dancing, traveling, going on “dinner and a movie” dates and playing cards. Jennifer was a voracious, lifelong reader who treasured her local library. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful blankets for her family and was known for her delicious cherry square cookies. Jennifer was ambitious and determined, which showed in many areas of her life. Jennifer attended California University of Pennsylvania as a nontraditional student and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1997 at 49 years old. She was a treasured kindergarten teacher at Sto-Rox Primary Center in McKees Rocks for 15 years. During her time there, she received the Teacher of the Year award. She’d always say that she felt her best when she was with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Rawlins; husband, Richard Frazier; her children, Christie Copeland (Rob), William Dixon (Beth) and Andrea Jasmin (Evinson); her six grandchildren, Erin and Sam Copeland, Sydney and Liam Dixon and Miles and Nyla Jasmin; as well as her step-children, Danielle Frazier and Scott Frazier; step-grandson, Jordan Frazier; step-great grandson, Sean; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her children know how much she took pride in her appearance – “So, Mom, in your honor, all your girls promise to remember to put on our earrings and lipstick when we walk out the door.” As she wished, the immediate family will have a private service and interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville. A party to celebrate her life with friends and family will be held at a later date. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME in Monongahela, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, was in charge of the arrangements. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
