AMD Industries continued to roll into the MVI Summer Basketball League playoffs, coming out with a 65-49 win over Monessen Florist in the last night of the regular season at Marx’s Court Time Sports Center.
In the first seven minutes of the game, AMD (9-1) was only up by four points. The score was 18-14 after a Pascale Olczak 3-pointer for Monessen Florist (5-4). But MoFlo would not score again for the next seven minutes of action.
AMD went on an 18-0 run during that time period, a lead that they held onto for the remainder of the contest.
“I think our defense really played great from the get go,” AMD coach Bria Rathway said. “I feel like (when) this season started, we didn’t press a ton. So we came out pressing tonight and I think that really helped us out. We got a lot of tips and we got a lot of steals.”
