A packed weekend of Mon Valley concerts includes the country music of Buckwild and Mallory Bozovich, the second annual Faith Night event featuring religious music and the Valley-native punk rock band Punchline at the 10th Annual Raise Your Voice Festival.
Here’s a look at those shows:
Rockin’ on the Mon with Buckwild
The Monongahela Aquatorium on Saturday will host headliner Buckwild with Bozovich as a part of its “Rockin’ on the Mon” summer concert series. Tickets cost $10, and gates open at 6 p.m.
Buckwild, known as Pittsburgh’s rockin’ country party band, has been around for about six and a half years. Buckwild typically covers music from artists such as Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Jordan Davis, according to the band’s frontman Scott Boyd.
“If it’s a hit song you hear on country radio, we’re doing it,” Boyd said.
It plays covers of country music and seeks to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere for its shows.
“The way I see a Buckwild show, it’s levels of entertainment,” Boyd said. “People that want to dance and have fun and get right up in our face are the ones that are close to the stage. You wanna sit back a little further and have a conversation and maybe enjoy a wine or a beer and sit back and watch the show, you still have that available to you.”
