It is not uncommon to take a gander around the food booths at International Village and spot multiple folks clutching two, three or maybe even four bags full of takeout from the various cultures represented at the 63-year-old ethnic festival.
International Village is under way at Renziehausen Park in McKeesport, as people from near and far flock to the three-day event that celebrates many different cultures from around the globe. This year, it had 17 different food booths set up on Stephen Barry Field.
And like most years, International Village’s attendees came prepared to chow down on the wide array of ethnic food available for purchase.
McKeesport resident Devin Luketic has been attending his hometown’s multicultural event since he was a young kid. For the last four years, Luketic has brought along his partner, Kayla Cav. The two sat at one of the many picnic tables set up at International Village, and they indulged in the aromatic cuisine, as they enjoyed the sounds of ethnic music ubiquitously playing throughout the multicultural village.
“It’s a nice mix of cultural foods,” Luketic said.
