DeUnger’s brace leads Cougars

Charleroi kicked off its Section 2-1A slate with a hard-fought victory in its season opener Monday night. The Cougars benefitted from a two-goal performance by McKenna DeUnger, a late insurance tally from Bella Carroto and a defensive unit that managed to fend off Bentworth for a 3-1 win at the Bearcats’ athletic facility in Ellsworth.
