Stories of loss shared on Overdose Awareness Day

Residents from across the Mon Valley gathered Thursday to share memories and stories of loved ones who lost their battle with substance use disorder. Each year, Aug. 31 is recognized as International Overdose Awareness Day. It’s the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdoses, remember without stigma those who have died from an overdose and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
