California made plays in all three phases of the game Friday night as the Trojans opened Tri-County South Conference play with a 48-21 triumph over Jefferson-Morgan at Parker Field. “I liked how the kids responded tonight,” Cal coach Ed Woods said. “We made a lot of plays all over the field and I think this was a team win for sure. Jefferson is a good football team. I think they are going to be a playoff team. I thought we won in the trenches and our kids rose to the occasion this week.”
