Elrama smokestack comes down
The smokestack at the former Elrama power station was imploded Tuesday morning by B&B wrecking. Roads in the area were closed beginning at 10:45 a.m. and reopened before noon. The main building of the Elrama Duquesne Light Power Station, which has been out of commission since 2012, was imploded May 12. Since then, demolition of the site has occurred in phases. It has been completely cleared and leveled, with packed dirt lining the river where the building once stood.
