Ringgold School District students are getting into trouble substantially less so far this year than they did last year.
Superintendent Randall Skrinjorich announced at Wednesday’s school board meeting that Ringgold’s middle and high schools both have reported a “significant decrease” in discipline referrals compared to last year around this time.
“I want to congratulate all the staff and everybody involved in help making that happen,” Skrinjorich said.
During Wednesday’s meeting, Wanda Creel, a leader coach from Studer Education, outlined Ringgold’s strategic plan and how it has fared so far this school year.
“This plan is about making Ringgold School District a great place to be for everybody — for students to come, for people to work, for the community we live in,” Skrinjorich said.
Studer Education partners with school districts to create successful learning and work environments.
Creel has worked with the district to collect and analyze data to continually improve its learning environment, and she pointed to the downturn in discipline referrals as an example of how the strategic plan has proven to be effective.
Ringgold High School Principal Dr. Gregory Saraceni said the high school’s discipline referrals dropped about 70% compared to this point last year.
