The Steel Center for Career and Technical Education in Jefferson Hills hosted an open forum Friday between Pennsylvania’s state Director for Career and Technical Education Judd R. Pittman and representatives from more than 60 technical schools in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
The forum focused on the necessity of collaboration for the growth of career and technical education in Pennsylvania.
The event aimed to facilitate direct engagement between Pittman, students, and faculty from across the Greater Pittsburgh region, according to Steel Center’s Executive Director Kevin Rice.
Representatives from Mon Valley CTC, Beaver County CTC, Parkway West CTC and Pittsburgh Public Schools, among others, were on hand Friday to engage with Pittman. Invitations were extended to all career and technical education schools in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Fayette, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland counties, according to Rice.
